Summary of Open Standards Benchmarking Measures: Manage employee information

Measures help an organization understand its operational performance relative to internal and external benchmarks (e.g., industry average and top performers). To ensure appropriate comparison, measures should be normalized to reduce the impact of organizational scale. Normalization puts the metric on a common unit basis (e.g., cost per unit). While most measures contained in this material are normalized, some will require normalization before proper comparisons are possible.

Formula information reflects the calculation used to derive a metric value. Included in these formulas are Open Standards Benchmarking survey question number references. Participants in Open Standards Benchmarking projects can receive a comprehensive report which includes values for each of the measures in this list (to the extent that the participant completes the survey).
