Darcy Lemons

Senior Consultant, APQC

Darcy Lemons is a senior consultant with APQC’s Advisory Services group and an instructor for many of APQC’s training courses and workshops. In more than two decades with APQC, Darcy has proven her subject matter expertise through best practices research and hands-on work helping APQC clients develop, maintain, and improve knowledge management (KM) programs and apply process and performance management (PPM) techniques. 

In addition to helping clients take charge of their improvement initiatives through custom-tailored trainings, Darcy works with organizations to assess capabilities and performance, develop strategies, and action plans, and manage custom improvement projects. Her experience spans a range of industries, from aerospace and defense to insurance, biotechnology, the U.S. military, mining, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and medical supplies and devices. 

She has also led or served as a subject matter expert on more than 30 collaborative, multi-client best practice benchmarking studies in her time at APQC, working with many Fortune 1000 and 500 companies and learning successful practices first-hand from practitioners and experts in the field. Many APQC clients know Darcy as the project manager for APQC’s KM Capability Assessment Tool and process, where she helps member organizations prepare for and complete the assessment, from validation to analysis and reporting. 

Darcy is frequently invited to speak and share her KM and PPM expertise, and has conducted some of APQC’s most popular webinars, on topics such as Improving the Rate of Knowledge Transfer and Connecting People to Content, Putting Knowledge in the Flow of Work, and Wikis: Secrets to Success. She frequently presents at KMWorld and APQC’s annual KM Conference on various knowledge management topics.

Darcy has been part of APQC’s KM Advanced Working Group from its inception in 2007, often serving as the project manager and expert in the identification of best practices and creation of frameworks, tools, and templates. 

Darcy earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Tech University, graduating magna cum laude in 1988. She continued her education at Texas Tech for three more years, completing a Master of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies (education psychology, family psychology, and psychology) in 1991 and graduating with honors.
