Percentage of manager transactions completed using Manager Self-Service (MSS) system
This measure calculates the percentage of all manager transactions conducted using a Manager Self-Service (MSS) system, which allows non-payroll, non-benefits and non-HR managers to perform an entire transaction by making changes or entering new information into the system of record from their computer terminals using a web portal or system that supports self-service transactions and enables managers to access and update HR information on employees who report to them. Transactions are defined as acts initiated by the employee that requires a submission and/or processing of data in order to complete the required steps in an HR process, such as a change of address, adding a dependent to benefit coverage, etc. It is part of a set of Process Efficiency measures that help companies optimize their "manage employee information" process by minimizing waste and refining resource consumption.

Key Terms
Process efficiency
Process efficiency represents how well a process converts its inputs into outputs. A process that converts 100% of the inputs into outputs without waste is more efficient than one that converts a similar amount of inputs into fewer outputs.
