This measure calculates the percentage of independent members on the audit committee. It is part of a set of Supplemental Information measures that help companies evaluate additional variables not covered elsewhere for the "establish internal controls, policies, and procedures" process, which entails forming the rules and regulations to ensure achievement in the areas of laws, regulations, and policies compliance; operations effectiveness; and financial reporting reliability.
