Signavio's Perspective on Combining Decision and Process Modeling

At APQC’s 2016 Process Conference Will Thomas of Signavio, Inc. discussed the benefits of integrating decision and process models on a common platform. Thomas will provide an introduction to decision modeling and discuss its impact on process design and management.

The attendees learned how to:

  • understand what types of decisions lend themselves to decision modeling, and appreciate how decision modeling can help simplify process definition,
  • learn the basics of the Decision Modeling Notation (DMN 1.0), its relationship to rules and Business Process Models (BPMN 2.0), and
  • see how the use of decision modeling enables companies to quickly respond to marketplace competition and adapt to the ever-changing regulatory environment.
