While communities of practices (CoPs) are a time-tested approach, achieving sustained engagement and value  can be extremely challenging. At APQC's 2019 KM Conference, Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) Nicole Balliette and Ideal State's Sara Teitelman shared key takeaways from their effort to design and launch a toolkit for communities of practice at CRS. Balliette and Teitelman described the team’s use of design thinking principles, which allowed the team to ask deeper questions and gather more meaningful insights about the user experience.
