APQC recently conducted a survey to understand how organizations leverage its Process Classification Framework® (PCF) and identify how they can overcome some of the associated challenges. The respondent organizations varied in their process management maturity and ultimately the purpose of their process management efforts. These two groups can be categorized as organizations that are “getting started” and organizations that are “focusing on performance.”

This report looks at the differences in process management characteristics (e.g., resources, program structure, and process improvement efforts) and the relationship between process frameworks and certification standards between the two groups.
