Organizations interested in increasing knowledge retention and transfer should establish oversight functions to supervise and administer knowledge management (KM) processes. Usually, this involves creating a centralized team that is devoted full-time to KM.

This article describes the KM governance structures and KM core teams at three best-practice organizations: Fluor, the Aerospace Corporation, and NASA.
