As part of their knowledge retention and transfer processes, many organizations record oral histories from retiring experts and long-tenured employees in order to capture key knowledge about their experiences, the projects they have worked on, how they overcame work-related challenges, and their ideas for the future. The document outlines the basic steps involved in setting up, conducting, and sharing the results of an interview with a subject matter expert or long-tenured employee.
