Knowledge-Sensitive Measures: How Technical Organizations and Business Areas Monitor Knowledge Acquisition and Application
Most organizations say they “value” knowledge and expertise, but for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) industries and business areas, that’s not enough. Many STEM disciplines use knowledge-sensitive measures to monitor the acquisition of knowledge and its application to improve business outcomes.
APQC has identified four categories of knowledge-sensitive measures: innovation, digital, operations, and competency. This article explains the categories and lists commonly used measures in each.
