Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is America’s largest philanthropic foundation dedicated solely to health. Based in Princeton, N.J., it funds a wide array of research and initiatives to help address America’s most pressing health challenges. The foundation collaborates with others to identify, understand, confront, and remove the structural barriers to health and well-being, including racism, powerlessness, discrimination, and their consequences.

APQC spoke with Ari Kramer, RWJF’s knowledge management officer, about the evolution of the organization’s knowledge management (KM) program, including its overall structure and purpose, its strategic projects around taxonomy development and enterprise search, and its work to enable data analysis and knowledge sharing.
