The Global Environmental Facility (GEF) is a multilateral fund that partners with 183 countries, 18 agencies, and several international environmental conventions to protect the global environment. To improve its impact, a KM practice was established to ensure that knowledge generated by its investments was codified and shared widely and effectively. As part of this program, in 2016 GEF began facilitating regional Knowledge Days as a way to capture tacit and explicit knowledge from key GEF partners and to improve project lessons. In a short time, it has conducted 12 regional events with attendees from more than 120 countries. In this conference session, Yasemin Biro Kirtman of GEF outlined the various learning and sharing methods and techniques used to engage participants during these events, as well as what activities were planned to continue learning and collaboration for the organization.
