Offering rewards to participants is one of the easiest, most effective ways to boost participation in knowledge management (KM) initiatives. This article describes the use of explicit and intrinsic rewards for KM at eight organizations: Buckman Laboratories, Ford Motor Company, Hewlett-Packard Consulting, Raytheon, Siemens, Xerox,  U.S. Air Force Materiel Command, and The World Bank.
