Getting the Most Out of Subject Matter Experts

This article describes innovative strategies for leveraging internal subject matter experts, such as deploying them as mentors, course instructors, storytellers, and community leaders. Examples are included from four highly technical organizations, all of which are focused on preserving and leveraging the knowledge of their long-tenured subject matter experts: The Aerospace Company, ConocoPhillips, Fluor Corporation, and NASA.
