In May 2019, APQC conducted a survey to learn how organizations are using process frameworks, the common adoption practices, implementation practices, and the challenges involved. The respondent organizations varied in their process management maturity and ultimately the purpose of their process management efforts. These two groups are categorized as organizations that are “getting started” and organizations that are “focusing on performance.”

This report looks at the differences in process management characteristics (e.g., resources, program structure, and process improvement efforts) and their applications of the PCF (e.g., uses, implementation steps, and challenges) between the two groups.
