FP&A Leaders Must Take a Fresh Look at Design, Tools, and Talent

Finance executives often concede they lack ready access to operating data and metrics, and it is not uncommon find them tapping into 10 or more different systems in the course of periodic financial reporting. Nearly three out of four survey participants believe that their organizations are committed to upgrading core financial management systems, data models, and processes, yet barely half of the survey participants say their organizations are committed to strengthening financial planning and analysis (FP&A)'s mission statement. This disconnect means that CFOs need to take a fresh look at FP&A design, tools, and talent. This article explains recent survey results and gives insight intoother advanced financial planning and analysis techniques.
