Workplace wellness programs have traditionally been designed to improve employee health and reduce health care spending. But assessing employee engagement in these programs is a difficult task. Close scrutiny over the last decade has revealed that many wellness programs need transformation in order to be cost-effective for employers and useful to employees.

In this article, APQC reviews authoritative research and studies on wellness programs and explores ways that these programs can and should adapt to a changing workplace landscape.
