Building an International Treasury Operation at a Multinational Technology Company

In September 2020, APQC spoke with retired global treasurer Damian Glendinning about how he set up an international treasury operation in his previous role, the role of technology in treasury, how organizations measure treasury success, and the skills that treasury professionals will need for the ‘next normal.’ Glendinning has decades of finance experience in a variety of roles at organizations including Unilever, IBM, and Lenovo and has served as president of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (Singapore) since June 2010, a position he also held from 1999 to 2003. For Glendinning, the most successful treasurers aren’t necessarily the ones who know the most, but the ones that know how to listen and build relationships with others.
