These days, personally owned computing devices such as smart phones and tablets are almost ubiquitous. Leading organizations recognize and embrace this trend for work and harness the power of mobile technologies to help make employees more productive in their jobs and better able to serve their customers. But leading organizations are also proactive about trying to formalize the company’s expectations for the usage of personal devices for work tasks, and also actively work to protect the security of confidential company and customer information.This article summarizes research from APQC's HR Organization Survey regarding the pervasiveness of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policies and the measurement of benefits of such policies.
