When MITRE's corporate IT leadership first pitched the value of an external-facing blog, it was unclear if staff writers would get on base. Two years later, bloggers were lining up to trot around the diamond. The Knowledge-Driven Enterprise blog is one facet of MITRE's ever-evolving knowledge-sharing culture and larger online presence through which employees improve outcomes for their customers. Originally envisioned as a way to communicate corporate agility, the blog has developed into a platform on which engineering staff share how they learn, analyze, collaborate, make decisions, and accomplish outcomes in partnership with their customers and one another. Participation is steady, with a constant queue of stories in the pipeline, credibility, and a real sense of the future. In this conference session, Marilyn Kupetz and Jean Colbert of MITRE reviewed the "why’s" and "how-to’s," emphasizing the blog’s long-term value, and showcased how MITRE staff co-produce novel solutions with customers and enable technical staff to tell those stories themselves.
