At APQC's 2015 Process Conference, Advisory Services senior advisors Jeff Varney and Jim Lee discussed how to focus improvement initiatives on the right problems so that they generate more value enterprise-wide. Varney and Lee drew on their experiences working with APQC clients to outline the pitfalls of considering business challenges only through the lens of a single improvement discipline. Then, they advocated for an integrated approach that combines elements from process management, knowledge management, quality, performance management, change management, and other disciplines in order to effectively diagnose and fix organizational inefficiencies and problems.
