Todd Unikel

Principal Research Lead, Financial Management

Todd is the Principal Research Lead for Financial Management at APQC and a Senior Advisor on the APQC Advisory Services team. In his role at APQC, Todd drives the financial management research agenda and serves as a subject matter expert on research projects and engagements with members and clients. Todd engages with finance leaders and process owners to research the practices of hundreds of the world’s largest organizations across all industries, identify effective methods of improvement and supporting business drivers, and share the learnings with our members and clients.

Prior to joining APQC, Todd spent more than 20 years helping mid-market and Global 500 companies improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of their back-office finance and other general and administrative functions including procurement and human resources. Todd began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), and then he led finance assessment and benchmarking efforts at Deloitte Consulting and The Hackett Group and finance operating model services at MorganFranklin Consulting. Todd focused on assisting Chief Financial Officers and functional leaders in assessing and optimizing order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, financial planning and analysis, and human resources processes through the identification of leading practices, technology solutions, benchmarking, operating model and organizational design, and vendor selection. He has led more than 250 engagements with organizations such as Bank of America, Boeing, NASA, Chevron, Citigroup, Coca-Cola, Fannie Mae, Hewlett-Packard, Northrop Grumman, Honeywell, Johnson & Johnson, Kaiser Permanente, Krispy Kreme, Sony, United Airlines, and Yahoo.
