Why CIOs Need to Measure Business Performance

Classic Content

In this whitepaper submitted to APQC by Oracle, the discussion explores the idea that most organizations are unaware of their performance at specific business process levels. The paper discusses that key performance indicators (KPIs) are only evaluated when a new initiative is added to help improve overall performance. Although relying on IT to measure business performance may not be a common practice, this white paper identifies the benefits of having a CIO lead such an endeavor, as they are constantly striving to provide greater value to their customers.  Measuring business performance provides a channel for increasing the service and strategic value IT can bring to the organization.
