What Works for Technical Talent?: Effective Approaches to Grow and Leverage Expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

Many industries contend with shortages of scientific, technical, engineering, and math (STEM) experts. This presentation examines which tools and approaches work best for each of the six drivers of the need to grow and leverage STEM talent:

  • rapid changes in knowledge/technology domains,
  • changing product/project mix requires new expertise,
  • retirement of long-tenured experts,
  • growth has outstripped the supply of experts,
  • globalization of the work force, and
  • changing career expectations of new hires/recent graduates.
