Successful organizations understand that to thrive, they must identify key risks and opportunities. Measurement is one of the most effective tools to finding opportunities and threats, developing management strategies, and driving success. Chris Gardner, director of performance improvement at APQC, and Darcy Lemons, senior project manager at APQC, gave this presentation at APQC’s 2012 Process Conference. It explores the Using Metrics that Drive Bottom Line Value Best Practices Report including leading practices and approaches associated with successful performance measurement systems. The study’s best practices reviewed are aligning measures with strategic objectives, using voice of customer feedback from external and internal customers, assigning an owner of the measurement system, and creating a sense of ownership by involving staff.
