Use Metrics as Conversation Openers When Approaching Content Management Stakeholders

The best-practice organizations in APQC's Connecting People to Content study evaluate the health of their content management approaches through measures such as the number of content downloads, the number of content items in libraries and project sites, and activity levels in community sites. Best-practice organizations do not hoard or hide the metric data they collect; rather, they proactively communicate findings to people out in the business to help them understand content trends and needs.
