In 2014, APQC held its 19th annual Knowledge Management conference. FMC Technologies presented on collaboration at their organization and how it helps them succeed. The Global Design Drafting network was one of the first networks launched at FMC Technologies Inc. It served as a pilot for the entire KM program but also had specific business objectives to align and connect 800+ network members spanning 25 countries and multiple business units. This presentation covers the journey of three network leaders as they piloted a community of practice within FMC. FMC Technologies presents on how their network leaders were able to drive cultural change by encouraging members to understand how collaboration and knowledge sharing could lead to an adopted global standard. This presentation includes recommendations for working across multiple cultures and generations and profiles the successes/challenges encountered with changing the culture to implement true global collaboration and knowledge sharing.
