Survey Summary Report - Dynamic Planning, Forecasting, and Performance Management

Details

In October 2014, APQC fielded a survey to determine the current state of the art in the realm of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business analysis, and decision-support provided by finance--in short, business performance management. We wanted to find out:

  • What are CFOs and controllers doing to strengthen their FP&A capabilities?
  • What are their aspirations for delivering forward-looking, driver-based analyses that are useful to business leaders?
  • What barriers hold finance back from being better aligned with business strategy and better aligned with business unit managers' needs for effective decision-support?
  • Where does cloud-based technology fit in?

There were 130 respondents, mainly from large, global organizations. The following is a summary report of the survey results.
