In 2008, APQC embarked on a Collaborative Research study to examine leading organizations’ work force planning practices and discover effective methods of anticipating and filling talent gaps. The APQC project team and subject matter experts from Infohrm focused their investigation on six organizations that were determined to have leading practices in strategic work force planning. The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) was among these best-practice organizations. This case study outlines ARDEC's approach to strategic work force planning.
