In 2008, APQC embarked on a Collaborative Research benchmarking study to examine leading organizations' work force planning practices and discover effective methods of anticipating and filling talent gaps. The APQC project team and subject matter experts from Infohrm focused their investigation on six organizations that were determined to have leading practices in strategic work force planning. Fifteen best practices associated with strategic work force planning success were uncovered and are summarized in this article.
