When an organization launches or revamps its knowledge management (KM) strategy, it often selects pilot projects to test and prove out that strategy. Among the most important criteria for a successful KM pilot project are:
- alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and core business processes;
- a high probability that the project will thrive and produce positive, measureable results; and
- sufficient scalability to support expansion beyond the initial scope.
