The APQC Best Practices Study Improving the Flow of Knowledge in Product Development identified best-practice organizations that have developed effective strategies to enable the flow of product development knowledge across organizational barriers.

To facilitate this, the best-practice organizations recruit knowledge management representatives from within business units and provide opportunities for the representatives to communicate and collaborate.
