This checklist works similarly to a SIPOC diagram—a technique for inputs, outputs, suppliers, processes, and customers relevant to a certain process— to ensure the team thinks through all of the relevant factors that would influence the new process, such as related processes in use at the organization, and asks the team to answer:
- What are the inputs to the process and who is responsible for those inputs?
- What resources and information is required to execute the process?
- What is the intended outcome and purpose of the process?
- Who are the clients of the process?
