While Liberty Mutual is a more than 125 year-old company, it is the result of multiple acquisitions and had no consistent knowledge management foundation. In 2014 the organization launched a formal effort to develop a knowledge management program. At APQC's 2015 Knowledge Management (KM) conference, Beth Houlis and Mary Ellen Sullivan from Liberty Mutual discussed the core components needed to propose and launch a KM program.
