Through its global rewards and recognition program, Cisco Systems has been able to harness the collective IQ of employees, increase its competitive intensity, and foster a culture of innovation. Highlighting a global program that utilizes techniques such as crowdsourcing, this session at APQC's 2014 KM Conference showed how a big company can scale an enterprise-wide effort by mapping the phases of innovation to the process of rewards and recognition.

Presenter Jennifer Cheung, Director of Knowledge Management at Cisco, shared how Cisco kick-started its KM journey with this program by understanding the challenges it faced, how its program was built to address those challenges, who it defined as stakeholders, and what impact the program has had. Cheung also shared insights into Cisco's programs and efforts focused on expertise location and enabling co-creation of content.
