It can be hard to determine the best course to take when structuring new product development (NPD) processes and teams. This article describes how organizations that lead the pack in new product profitability build project teams, select project managers, and define processes that work within the context of their businesses. This information was gleaned from data collected through a survey conducted by APQC and the Product Development Institute (PDI) as part of the New Product Development: Embracing an Adaptable Process study.
