The United States government's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was among five best-practice organizations examined in APQC's 2008 Collaborative Research study, Using Knowledge: Advances in Expertise Location and Social Networking. This article describes NASA's many attempts to build an effective expertise locator system and why the agency's most recent effort is so unique.
