In the summer of 2015, APQC launched a survey to examine the growing pressure on large companies to deliver stronger-than-ever business growth. We also asked about preferred strategic options for achieving new growth targets over the next three years. APQC then juxtaposed the issue of ERP landscape complexity that these companies tolerate and the difficulty they face when it comes to integrating newly acquired businesses.
This study suggests that many organizations will find that ERP complexity is -- or will become -- an insurmountable obstacle. On the bright side, some senior executives are open to seeking out alternatives to large-scale ERP system changes. They want to find practical ways to align the enterprise technology strategy with long-term business strategy.
