Digital Oil Consulting on Designing Data Governance Based on APQC’S PCF

At APQC’s 2016 Process Conference Digital Oil Consulting presented a case study on the successful design of a data governance program based on APQC’s Process Classification Framework® (PCF). Throughout the last decade, information technology advancements have made data governance programs a critical part of organizations in response to regulatory conformance, security, fraud, quality, and privacy concerns.

This discussed one of Canada’s public sector projects about data governance processes. One of the main objectives was to design flexible business processes while allowing new governmental departments to join the program as it matures. With the help of Digital Oil Consulting, utilizing APQC’s PCF offered Canada the potential to adopt standardized data governance programs among different industries with minimum customization; therefore, gaining efficiency, sharing best practices and reducing design and implementation costs.
