In 2003 and 2009, APQC conducted Collaborative Research studies on the subject of talent management. A comparison of the study findings revealed that many of the talent management best practices uncovered in 2003 remained best practices in 2009. This article summarizes eight enduring talent management practices including practices related to leadership development, leadership selection, competency models, employee engagement, and employee retention.
