Creating Process Definitions: How to Use a Process Classification Framework

A key benefit of using any process framework is having common language and clarity around an organization’s processes. Without definitions, the processes are still open to interpretation, which limits a framework’s ability to ensure process standardization, compare and benchmark performance, and identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. APQC’s Process Classification Framework® (PCF) can help organizations looking to define their process elements, by leveraging or adapting existing elements. This article details how to leverage the PCF in implementing standard process definitions.
