Content Subscriptions and Feeds: An Overview of Tools Used for Knowledge Management



From an organizational perspective, subscriptions and feeds are a convenient way to keep employees informed without taking up too much of their time logging into sites and weeding through irrelevant information. From the employee’s perspective, the most significant benefit of a subscription is that user can “set it and forget it.” Once people subscribe to a particular feed, they do not have to remember to visit specific communities, sites, or discussion boards to see postings or updates. They also do not have to waste time visiting sites where no new content has been added.
