Rather than spreading responsibility thinly across several resources and process objectives, best-practice organizations focus on centralizing process management around a select few capabilities for maximum effect. Most organizations centralize at the headquarters level, but that is not necessarily appropriate for all organizations. This article examines three best-practice organizations' alternative centralization tactics that fit their unique needs.
