"There's way more processes to map than we have expert process mapping folk." Howard Strawbridge, Director of Innovation at Inglis, explained that this statement has proved true at Inglis as well as other organizations he has worked for. Process professionals and mapping software are unaffordable luxuries for many organizations.
In his presentation at APQC's 2014 Process Conference, Harold Strawbridge discussed ways to approach process mapping so that it can be performed by people without prior process mapping expertise. The key, according to Strawbridge, is to engage process owners and build their process mapping capability through a combination of tools, facilitation techniques, and process mapping methods.
