Bridging the Expertise Gap in Science, Engineering, and Technology: Data Report

Details

Many industries are contending with a shortage of experts and expertise in scientific, technical, engineering, and math (STEM) specialties. In 2014, APQC surveyed more than 750 people across various disciplines to learn what is driving the need for increased expertise inside their organizations and what they are doing to accelerate competency development, both for newcomers who need to work more autonomously and mid-career professionals who must be ready to assume technical leadership positions. This data report summarizes the results of that survey, highlighting the most effective strategies and approaches for growing STEM expertise.
