In 2011, Anadarko Petroleum Corp. launched a knowledge sharing tool to link employees across boundaries, capture knowledge from a retiring generation, and accelerate the learning curve of its technical staff. The goal was to give employees an open and safe place to share without fear of ridicule while sticking to the company's core values and maintaining a high level of credibility.
In this presentation, delivered at APQC's 2014 Knowledge Management (KM) Conference, Anadarko describes how it was able to strategically implement this tool modeled after social media; how imperative executive-level support was to the momentum of the program; and how the organization has been able to maintain credibility. The presentation also covers initial and current activity statistics, challenges, and future growth opportunities.
