What We Can Learn from Airbnb on Building Trust and Encouraging Knowledge Sharing

An APQC Webinar

Airbnb, one of the fastest growing icons of the digital economy, is fueled by the willingness of guests and hosts to rate and to trust each other. Alok Gupta, data science manager at Airbnb, will provide examples of how his team has experimented with different ways to build trust among strangers. This is an essential element for knowledge transfer in any global company. Alok is also passionate about knowledge capture and transfer among his team of data scientists, with the goal of avoiding doing experiments over again, as well as to understand the decision process that was used. He will discuss how he has personally role modeled, required, and provided time for his team to engage in this knowledge capture and transfer. The open-source software they use may be useful for KM teams and other organizations as well.
