Principal Research Lead, Knowledge Management

Known as a leader in Knowledge Management (KM) approaches and best practices, members rely on APQC to provide both foundational resources for organizations just starting out in KM as well as leading edge guidance on the next evolution of KM. As the Principal Research Lead for Knowledge Management, you will be at the forefront of understanding and sharing what works in Knowledge Management with APQC’s more than 1,000 member organizations and clients.

The Principal Research Lead shapes APQC’s research in KM by selecting, scoping, and overseeing the execution of research projects across a wide range of KM topics. Research projects conducted yield data and insights that you will use to tell a compelling story through presentations, in conversations with members, and by working with team members to create and publish written content.


What you will do

  • Develop and execute APQC’s agenda for knowledge management research ensuring the topics are based on member needs and market trends.
  • Manage the cadence of multiple research projects simultaneously that meet member expectations and annual research goals.
  • Identify and develop key findings from the research; work with research managers, analysts, writers and content creators to develop data-based, practical and compelling content.
  • Engage with members and clients to understand the challenges they face day today and provide insights based on APQC research, data, information, and expertise.
  • Serve as a KM subject matter expert internally collaborating and innovating with other research leads, advisors, and marketing and product teams to ensure APQC’s KM offerings are responsive to member needs and pushing them to the next level.
  • Mentor and coach team members, growing their knowledge of KM approaches and practices.

  • An understanding of KM practices and processes that span the Enterprise, including direct hands-on experience in developing and implementing and or leading KM programs.
