Order management is about keeping track of your orders and making sure the people, process, and partnerships required to complete those tasks are being managed to maximum potential. It revolves around keeping track of the order itself and managing the data around the client for easy access. Dig deeper by completing the Sales and Order Management Open Standards Benchmarking Assessment.

This assessment includes measures dealing with costs, FTEs, sales budgets, and service-after-sales performance.

Some Key performance metrics include:

  • Average cost per sales order for orders received through new channels
  • Average monthly sales forecast error within a product family
  • Number of sales orders placed per FTE that performs the process "manage sales orders"

All submissions to APQC's benchmarking database, both Open Standards Benchmarking and Rapid Performance Assessments, must be collected using APQC's easy-to-use Microsoft Excel data collection instruments. Please download a fresh copy of the assessment file by clicking the “Download Survey to Start Assessment” button.

Each benchmarking assessment offers an Excel-based data collection tool consisting of the survey itself, the measures associated with the survey, the glossary terms needed to understand the survey, and a copy of the Process Classification Framework (PCF) relevant to the data collection instrument. The consolidated data collection tool is intended to simplify the collection of benchmarking data within your organization.
