APQC Names Dominique Shu as Director of Research
Shu leads and oversees a team of professionals tasked with conducting and disseminating research for APQC. She is responsible for understanding APQC members’ content needs, applying business insight to turn those needs into research offerings, and inspiring her team to create and share content through a variety of channels in such a way that drives member value. She and her team are responsible for continuous identification of research needs and population of content into APQC’s Knowledge Base for both qualitative and quantitative data needs as well as special member-requested projects.
“As a researcher and marketer for more than 20 years, I’m thrilled to lead APQC’s research services. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be to find validated, actionable content and data to support the strategic projects in my previous companies. Having the ability to solve challenges I faced and to create content in emerging fields or pressing topics is immensely satisfying,” notes Shu.
Cathy Hill, Senior Executive Director of Sales and Membership, notes, “Dominique brings great research skills, content creation talent, and management experience to APQC. We are excited to have her join the team and bring an inside knowledge of what our members need.”
Prior to APQC, Shu worked in and with Fortune 5 and mid-sized technology firms as well as gained deep focus in the energy and oil and gas sectors. Her experience includes research-related roles with Halliburton, Weatherford, Valley Forge Technical Information Services, Boots and Coots Group, Decision Strategies, McKinley Marketing Partners, and Unleaded Communications.
Shu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University. She volunteers her time for the American Marketing Association of Houston, where she served as President from 2013-2014, and CMO Advisor to an exclusive forum for Houston-based Chief Marketing Officers. She is involved with the Product Development Management Association (PDMA), Society of Petroleum Engineers, Women’s Energy Network, World Affairs Council of Houston, and has served as a Bauer MBA Mentor.
